Configuring Service Offerings

Setting duration, pricing, and booking options

This page covers configuring service offering options like duration, pricing, visibility, and booking constraints.

Creating a Service Offering

To create a new offering:

  1. Go to Settings → Service Offerings
  2. Click + Add
  3. Fill in the configuration
  4. Save

Tip: Use the command palette (Cmd+K or Ctrl+K) and search for "Add Service Offering" to open the create dialogue directly.

Currently, you can create one offering per service in your organisation's catalogue. Support for multiple offerings per service will be available in the future.

Service Selection

Choose which service from your organisation's catalogue you want to offer at your site.

Add service offering dialogue

Title and Description

Optionally override the default title and description for this offering. Leave blank to use the service catalogue defaults.

Visibility

Control who can see and book this service:

  • Public - Visible to all customers on your public booking page
  • Unlisted - Not listed publicly, but accessible via direct link
  • Private - Only accessible within Light, not on public booking page (e.g., for walk-ins)

Availability Dates

Optionally set when this offering is available for booking:

  • Available From - Start date (blank = available immediately)
  • Available Until - End date (blank = available indefinitely)

Useful for seasonal services or limited-time offerings.

Availability Mode

Choose how this service's availability is calculated. See Availability Modes for detailed explanations of each mode.

Booking Duration

Set how long this service takes, in minutes.

Price

Set the cost for this service. Leave blank for free services.

Booking Buffers

Add buffer time before or after appointments:

Before Booking Buffer

The amount of time another booking cannot be made prior to this service. Useful for preparation time.

Example: 15 minute buffer ensures there's a gap before the appointment for setup.

After Booking Buffer

The amount of time another booking cannot be made after this service. Useful for cleanup or transition time.

Example: 10 minute buffer ensures time to clean the room before the next customer.

Minimum Notice

The minimum time into the future that a booking can be made, in hours.

Example: Set to 2 hours so customers cannot book appointments starting within the next 2 hours. This gives you time to see and prepare for bookings.

Limit Future Bookings

Limit how far into the future bookings can be made, in weeks.

Example: Set to 4 weeks so customers can only book up to one month in advance. Useful for managing capacity and reducing no-shows on distant appointments.

Updating Service Offerings

To update an offering:

  1. Go to Settings → Service Offerings
  2. Click on the offering in the list
  3. Click Edit
  4. Make your changes and save

Changes to duration, pricing, and buffers take effect immediately. Existing bookings are not modified.

Deactivating vs. Deleting

You can deactivate a service offering instead of deleting it:

  • Inactive - No longer bookable, but configuration preserved
  • Delete - Permanently removes the offering

Deactivating is useful when you want to temporarily stop taking bookings for a service but may re-enable it later.
